October and Q4 2026 Sugar Market Outlook

As markets move into Q4 2026, the international sugar trade faces renewed pressure. Shifting weather in south-central Brazil, tighter port logistics and higher vessel charter rates make this one of the most volatile periods of the year for spot and contract buyers.

Prices: a clear upward trend

Comparing our July and October 2026 price lists, prices have moved up across all Brazilian cane sugar grades we supply: ICUMSA 45, ICUMSA 150, ICUMSA 600-1200 and DDP USA deliveries of ICUMSA 45. Prices change every month, so we share the current list on request.

How we structure real deals

Non-performing intermediaries and unworkable payment drafts create bottlenecks. Every Global Food Traders transaction follows the same written sequence:

  1. The buyer issues an LOI or ICPO with full corporate details and the signatory’s passport.
  2. We validate KYC and issue a Full Corporate Offer (FCO).
  3. The buyer signs and returns the FCO.
  4. We issue the draft Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA), which the buyer signs within five business days.
  5. We issue the proforma invoice and the buyer’s bank issues the SBLC (MT760) or DLC (MT700), or confirms irrevocable funds blocked for one year by MT799, bank to bank.
  6. We issue a 2% Performance Bond once the instrument is operative.
  7. Goods are loaded at the Brazilian port after SGS quality and quantity inspection.
  8. Each shipment is paid by MT103 against the shipping documents.

Deadlines for every step are published in our Trading Procedure.
